The International Conference on Power and Embedded Drive Control (ICPEDC 2017) will be held at SSN College of Engineering, Chennai, India during 16 - 18 March 2017. Chennai is a traditional but vibrant city in India. Delegates can visit the famous shore temples in Mahabalipuram, Kancheepuram-City of Thousand Temples & St. Thomas Mount, National Shrine etc., leaving an unforgettable memory of Chennai.

The objective of the International Conference on Power and Embedded Drive Control (ICPEDC- 2017) is to provide a platform for academicians, researchers and industrial professional engineers to present their research findings and developmental activities in the broad area of Embedded Drive and Power Control. This conference will provide opportunities for the delegates to exchange new ideas and their experiences to establish research relations for future collaborations. The conference is recognized as one of the major conferences in Embedded Drive and Power Control.

Scope of the Conference

The objective of the International Conference on Power and Embedded Drive Control (ICPEDC2017) is to provide a common a platform for all researchers, professionals and engineers from all over the world to present and exchange their expertise in the field of Electrical machines and drives, controllers and power electronics. The conference will provide premium forum for sharing knowledge, experience and creative ideas of the experts with the researchers, academicians and the participants, a platform for discussing new trends in drives with reliable control and power electronics and also provide sustainable solutions for application of electrical machines and power in day to day applications.

Original contributions based on the results of research and developments are solicited on the wide range of topics listed below. Prospective authors are requested to submit their papers in not more than 6 pages, prepared in the two column IEEE format. The paper should contain the e-mail addresses, postal addresses and affiliation of the author(s). Accepted papers will be published in the proceedings of the conference, provided at least one of the authors registers for the conference.

Paper Submission

Papers for presentations should conform to the IEEE format and specifications. All submissions must be in English only. Authors are invited to submit full paper (Maximum 6 pages, double-column US letter size) as PDF using the IEEE templates.

All papers that confirm to submission guidelines will be double peer reviewed and evaluated based on originality, technical content, relevance to conference, contributions, and readability. Acceptance of papers will be communicated to authors by email.

Authors of accepted papers will be allowed to make corrections in accordance with suggestions of reviewers and submit final camera-ready papers within the stipulated deadline. The conference proceedings will be distributed amongst the participants during the conference and selected papers will be included in IEEE Xplorer.

About the Institution

Sri Sivasubramaniya Nadar College of Engineering (SSNCE) is the outcome of the vision and initiative of Dr. Shiv Nadar, Chairman, HCL Technologies, a pioneer in the field of Information Technology. The Institution reflects the ideals of its founder and seeks to achieve excellence as an academic Institution and advanced research Centre. The Institution was established in 1996 on a sprawling campus of 250 acres on the Rajiv Gandhi Salai (OMR) of Chennai. The campus comprises aesthetically designed buildings that are networked by fiber optic cables. The Institution offers eight B.E./B.Tech. degree programmes in Electrical and Electronics, Electronics and Communication, Computer Science, Information Technology, Chemical, Biomedical, Mechanical and Civil Engineering. About the Department

The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering offers NBA accredited B.E. degree program in Electrical and Electronics Engineering and M.E. degree program in Power Electronics and Drives. The Department has 30 qualified faculty members including 19 Ph.D. The department is recognized as approved research centre by Anna University for pursuing Ph.D / M.S (Research) program. The department has 65 research scholars pursuing Ph.D / M.S (Research) program under 10 recognized supervisors. The broad area of research includes Power Systems, Power Electronics & Drives, Special Electrical Machines, Control & Dynamics, Renewable Energy Systems, High Voltage Engineering and Optimization techniques. The department is equipped with state-of-the-art laboratories like Advanced Power Electronics lab, Solar Energy Research Lab, High Voltage Lab and System Simulation Lab with licensed softwares like MATLAB, MagNet, Labview, PSpice, PSim, PSCAD, Mipower, EMTP, etc. The department has publications in referred impact factor journals and in International / National conference proceedings.

The department has signed MoU with M/s. Danfoss Industries, M/s. Hibrise Technologies and has taken up research projects funded by AICTE, MNRE and NIWE. The Department has organized three International Conferences, six National Conferences, seven Faculty Development Program sponsored by Anna University, three Short-term Training Program sponsored by AICTE, ISTE and many Workshops.

Reaching The Venue -- Reaching the Conference Venue (SSN) from different boarding points by Bus/Train

Participants arriving by Train (Egmore Station)

Participants travelling by train or bus can get down at Tambaram station and take any of the following Route nos. from Tambaram to reach SSN College of Engineering:

Route nos.: 515, 115 - Tambaram to Mamallapuram
Route nos.: 555, 566, 55k - Tambaram to Thirupporur

A 40 minutes drive makes you to reach the conference venue. The bus stop is SSN College.


Participants arriving by Train (Central Station)

At the gate of Chennai Central Railway station, you can board a bus to Broadway. Normally all the buses entering the central station and stopping at the bay will go to Broadway bus stand. It takes 4-6 minutes to reach Broadway. From Broadway bus terminus, you can take any of the following route buses to Kelambakkam.

Route nos.: 555, 566, 55k - Tambaram to Thirupporur

It takes 1 hr to reach Kelambakkam from Broadway. From Kelambakkam the participant can board any bus or share autos or trip vans going towards Thirupporur / Mamallapuram and get down at SSN college of Engineering


Participants who arrive by bus at Koyambedu Bus Terminus

Those who are coming from north Tamil Nadu by bus can use any of the routes given below. At Koyambedu bus stand (CMBT) there are two systems -- One is for moffusel bus and the other one for local bus.

From Koyembedu Moffusel bus Stand you can board the bus (Route no 119) to Kalppakkam/Mamallapuram, which goes via SSN College of Engineering.

For boarding local bus, you can look for one just outside the Koyembedu bus stand. You can board the bus (Route no 570 & 570s) to Kelambakkam. Both the buses cover the distance in about 1.30 hrs to 2 hrs depending on the traffic. From Kelambakkam, the participant can board any bus or share autos or trip vans going towards Thirupporur / Mamallapuram and get down at SSN college of Engineering.


National and International Participants arriving by Air Route

Participants can reach the venue by booking a prepaid taxi from Chennai airport (Domestic or International Terminal) to SSN College of Engineering which will cost around $20-25.
